I wanted to add a page that let's you guys know what I am reading. I thought this would be a good idea because they are not only some of my resources for sneakers, hats, clothes, and such, but also part of what I love as an Education and English major. True, I have more magazines than books, but hey, there will be more soon. The idea for making a "What I'm Reading" page because I saw it on another website and I thought that it was a good idea because I always find something to read by asking someone else, so why not give you guys some ideas on what I think would be good to read.

a) How do you think this video is relevant to education?
This video is relevant to education because the video talks about how teachers need to keep up to date on technology in order for students to stay attentive. Due to the fact that technology changes, teachers need to keep up on the newest technology so students do not become bored with what they see as "out of date." Also, sometimes a student will make a contribution to the class, but because of certain words used other students do not understand. Then if a student rewords the original statement, someone who didn't understand the original statement will get the point that was made; this is the "Whatever" section in the video. The speaker also talks about how the current generation is very self centered, as seen by the boom in reality television shows. This can be used in the classroom by having students participate in groups, but having them divide up the work so they work individually but then put it together as a group.

b) What does the term 'recognition' refer to in the video?
The term 'recognition' refers to how in today's society, no one has recognition; they have to gain it. This can be applied to a class because no one has recognition in a classroom on the first day. People want to find who they actually are and bring this into the classroom. Also, as the speaker states, because individuals are pursuing his or her own "self", there can be difficulties trying to get students to work together. This is because if a student believes that he or she is "the most important person on the planet" then they will not necessarily want to work with anyone else.
